AIAS-4
The AIAS-4, or Artificial Intelligence Attitude Scale, is a short, reliable psychometric measure created to assess general positive attitudes toward artificial intelligence. Its development included a comprehensive validation process, assessing its psychometric properties, such as factor structure, internal consistency, and construct validity, ensuring it is both a robust and accurate tool. The scale was validated across multiple samples, indicating that it holds up well under different demographic and cultural contexts, enhancing its applicability in diverse settings.
The AIAS-4 uses a 10-point scale for each item, ranging from 1 ("Not at all") to 10 ("Completely agree"). The score is calculated by averaging all four item responses, resulting in a composite score that reflects the respondent's overall attitude toward AI.
Higher scores (closer to 10) indicate a more positive attitude toward AI.
Lower scores (closer to 1) suggest a less positive attitude toward AI.
The AIAS-4 is helpful for various applications, especially in research focused on AI adoption, public perception, and attitudes toward technology in general. It can serve researchers, educators, and policymakers by providing insights into public sentiment, which can inform educational initiatives, communication strategies, and policy development around AI. Additionally, this tool can benefit organizations and businesses looking to assess their workforce’s readiness and openness to AI technologies, enabling them to tailor training and support accordingly.
The AIAS-4's target audience includes professionals in psychology, sociology, technology adoption, education, and public policy, as well as anyone interested in measuring and understanding attitudes toward artificial intelligence in a streamlined, validated manner.

Scoring Instructions: Calculate the score by averaging all item responses to obtain a single, composite score that reflects the overall attitude toward AI. Higher scores indicate a more positive attitude toward AI, while lower scores suggest a less positive attitude.
